New Orleans - May 16, 2005

Tour of Southern States (1 of 9) :

After the excitement of the weekend at Fiona's wedding, we said cheerio to everybody and flew to New Orleans, Louisiana. We'd heard stories about "Bourbon Street" and wanted to see what it was like. We had a wonderful time. We ended in a bar with two pianos and a guy playing the tray! It was really great. We had a couple of hurricane cocktails. Like all hurricanes we had to wait for morning to discover the damage.

New Orleans is definitely seedy. Robert thought I might not like it - and he was close to being right. The music was amazing and the place has a terrific buzz. Ali and I were quite delighted by New Orleans. I'm not sure we're over enthusiastic to go again, however we're very pleased to have been there. I reckon that New Orleans is a place to go with a gang of folks and let your hair down.
