Sedona - December 22 and 23, 2006

Christmas 2006 (2 of 10) :

We decided to make a trip to Arizona and New Mexico during the Christmas Holiday. We'd a few reasons to make the trip, and not the least was to tick off states 38 and 39 on our way to visiting them all.

We flew to Phoenix and then drove to Sedona on our way to the Grand Canyon. We could have flown to Las Vegas and driven from there, however I wanted to see Phoenix. This is the fastest growing city in the US and I wanted to see what the place looked like. Of course Vegas is very famous and is also growing rapidy and I expect we'll visit Vegas at some time in the future.

Anyway, we drove to Sedona and stayed the night. I had been told it was beautiful and indeed it is. It's the red rock country of the cowboy movies with John Wayne that were part of my childhood. They haven't made a movie there since 1985.
