One of the highlights of the year is the Striders Holiday Party in December. As always it was a glittering occasion with the club members turning out in their finest evening clothes and having a nice time together.
This year was especially memorable for me because I was given the award "Strider of the Year". This is a real honor and I'm very humbled and grateful to the members of the club for awarding this to me. Other Awards were given to Claire (Most Improved), Penny (Best Volunteer) and Jean (Achievement).
This years party was held in St Edward's Church Hall, San Jose. Bill is a member of the Church and was able to fix this for us. Lots of other contributed including the Janine and crew for catering, Peggy and Penny for organizing things. Bill for most of the raffle prizes. Santhi helped with the table decorations. Jean and Robin provided video and slide shows of events from the last year. Most importantly, all the members who turned up at the Party and who participated in the nomination process for the Awards. Thanks everybody. Happy Holidays and All the Best for 2007.
