Jamie and Amy - September 27, 2009

We enjoyed a visit from England by our son Jamie and his girl-friend Amy. Jamie's been to visit us in California about 10 times in the 9½ years we've lived here. This is the first time I've met Amy and the couple have been together for about a year. Ali stayed with them in England when she was there for a month in June.

As Amy is a first time visitor, we went for the tour of the Bay Area. We always begin at Twin Peaks in San Francisco. Standing on the peaks on a clear sunny day is the quickest and easier way to understand the geography of the Bay Area. A tour of some of the streets and sights of San Francisco is followed by Golden Gate and the Marin Headlands. After stopping for ice-cream at Stinson Beach, we drove to the top of Mt Tamalpais. The tour completes by crossing Richmond Bridge, and the Bay Bridge before returning to San Jose. Today's trip had the bonus of seeing the sun set through the Golden Gate from Treasure Island. A great day out.
