New Year's Day

Christmas 2011 (8 of 9) :

About 10 years we decided to stop the Scottish Tradition of boozing at Midnight on New Year, and 3 years ago we decided to always run in a "Resolution Run" on New Year's Day. This year we did a 10k in Palo Alto and I was thrilled to be placed first in my division (M60-69). I never thought I'd see the day when I came first in an event.

We were very pleased to meet up with Elvira, Charles and family. We haven't seen them for several years and Elvira hasn't run since September 2008 when we ran together in the Trailblazer 10k. She was in amazing form. She was 3rd overall in the Ladies with a time of 49:02. My time was 49:23. We ran together for a little while when she caught me up at mile 3. However I was a few seconds/mile slower and urged Elvira to push on. Well done, Elvira - an awesome result.

And then we went to Mountain View and had breakfast with Dennis. No photos from breakfast. Well done, Elvira. Ali and I hope everything goes well for you and Charles and your family in 2012.
