Olympic National Park

Vacation 2011 (7 of 10) :

Although we had originally thought to go to Mt Rainier National Park, we changed our mind when the weather remained perfect. We decided to spend another day in Olympic National Park and enjoyed a couple of nice hikes. In the morning, we visited Pol Duc Hot Springs and walked the 6 mile waterfall trail. In the afternoon we visited Lake Mills which is a reservoir in the mountains. Engineering work to remove the dam and restore the area begings in September and will take a couple of years.

We stopped at the Observation Point about Lake Mills and got talking to Mathhew. He's a very enthusiastic, and regrettably out of work, photographer. He had a 40mb Pentax digital camera. It was very nice to meet and talk with Mathew. He used the Pano tools to stitch a couple of my photos from Ferndale together. Great job, Mathew.
