Newlands Corner

Newlands Corner Walk

Our next door neighbours are very enthusiastic hikers. They are involved with a club for blind folks who would like to hike. I think they organize the blind hike about once a year and ask us to volunteer to be guides. Today's hike was from Guildford to Newlands Corner and return. Very beautiful walk on the North Downs on a very nice spring day.

I was paired up with Jason and his dog Cramer who is a 2 year old labrador. I'm not too sure that Cramer knew that he was to work, he clearly thought he was out for a romp in the country. He's a very nice dog. He felt more like a family pet than a working dog. Jason's business takes him all over the country and Cramer is a safe pair of eyes and great company.

A good turnout. Between 30 and 40 is my guess. Thank You, Brian for organizing the hike and inviting Alison and I to participate.
