We had a wonderful time with Stevens Creek Striders at the Western States 100 mile Endurance Run in June. Striders always to do the aid station at mile 43 - "Last Chance" - named after an abandoned nineteenth century mining village. The team was organised by Jean, Marsha, Bob, Mike and Melanie. Dr Bob and crew provided medical support. Everybody had a great time. Special thanks to Peggy and Bill for the campfire sing song on Friday night.

Andrew loves his stereo camera (all three of them). These were very popular in the late 40s and 50s. Andrew's persuaded me that its a good idea to take one of his cameras to England to Alan's wedding. So he's given me some instruction in the use of this - how to set the ASA, shutter speed, focal length and aperture. Who knows, I might even take some good photos!

The Rev Bruce Nicole will be officiating at Alan and Jen's wedding - and I'm very happy about that.
He's a very nice man with a gentle sense of humour. I know the Wedding will be conducted with enourmous charm and appropriate dignity.

Our son Alan is getting married in England. Alan and his wife Jen will honeymoon in California. We intend to have a reception in San Jose for the newly weds and and our other son Jamie will also come to meet our friends. On our way back to the States, Ali and I have planned a stopover in Reykjavik, Iceland. And just to top off a perfect August, we're going to the Sierras to run the high country from Squaw to Robinson Flat on the Western States trail.
