The Reception The Service
Ali and Robin at the Wedding

The weather was perfect and we were able to enjoy the wonderful view of the Surrey Downs from Frensham Heights. The guests were entertained by Steve Abbott cutting their profiles which were pasted in a book for the Alan and Jen to keep. We were also entertained by a string duo - Two Cellos. In the evening Lost Boys Party Band played 1960 and 70's music. Lots of dancing. Of course we had dinner and speeches. I wrote and read a poem to mark the occasion. A Perfect Day.

Rev Bruce Nicole and St Michael's Church

The Rev Bruce Nicole conducted the service at Alan and Jen's wedding. It was beautful - thank you Bruce. The wedding took place in St Michael's Parish Church, Camberley. It's very nice - build around 1850. It has a spire, choir, pipe organ and bells. Quintessentially English.

The Bride came down the aisle to "The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" by the English Composer George Handel. The organ played, the choir sung and the bells chimed. Beautiful.

About the wedding photos...
Many of the photographs of the wedding were taken by David Innes using my Canon Digital Rebel SLR. David is a friend of Alan and a guest at the wedding. Thank you, David.

Our son Alan was married on August 6 in England. Alan and his wife Jen honeymooned in California. We had a reception in San Jose for the newly weds and and our other son Jamie will also come to meet our friends. On our way back to the States, Ali and I enjoyed a stopover in Reykjavik, Iceland. And just to top off a perfect August, we went running with friends on the Western States Trail in California. Skalholt, Iceland

Western States Adventure Weekend

The Johnsons, The Lodge, The Runners, Squaw Valley

Steve, Penny, Dennis and Robin ran the high country from Squaw Valley to Robinson Flat on the Western States trail. We were joined for the weekend by the Johnson family and Steve's friends Winnie, Lee and Linda. We all stayed at the Christmas Tree Lodge near Foresthill, California. Very nice - highly recommended.
